DESIGN

I took various aspects of my research into consideration while designing the project.
I took note of the different types of knots I would have to make in order to finish this project. This meant looking up-close at different knot styles. For example, I wanted the knots on the bottom of the bed to resemble a hammock, and did research into the style of square-knots that would be used in order to achieve that.
I came up with some measurements that I wanted the bed to have, which I believed would leave enough room for the cats to interact with the bed, without getting in the way of other pieces of furniture in our apartment. These measurements also helped me get a general idea of how much rope I would need to purchase in order to complete the full scope of my project.
Drawing the project from different angles helped me get a full picture of what I had hoped the end result would look like. Seeing the project from the font, side, bottom, and an isometric view gave me a concrete image of what I had hoped to create, rather than just a vague idea.
